Settings: quality and file size

Size is an estimate: the converter picks a quality but does not guarantee an exact hit.

JPG has no transparency: transparent areas become white.

Photos are not uploaded to a server — conversion runs in your browser.

Accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF. Up to 25 files at once, 40 MB per file; up to 13 megapixels on mobile and 24 megapixels on desktop.

Why iPhone photos will not open

iPhone shoots in HEIC by default: it stores photos more compactly than JPG, but many Windows programs, older Android versions, websites and print services do not accept it.

JPG opens almost everywhere, so photos are usually converted to it for sharing, uploading to a form or printing. The converter uses the primary still image from the HEIC and saves it in standard SDR color.

Send iPhone photos as JPG right away

Sometimes conversion is not needed: iOS can convert photos when you share them. In Photos, open Share → Options → Most Compatible. Apple says this option may convert photos to JPEG; the result depends on the sharing destination. To convert an original HEIC file here, select it from Files.

How to convert photos

  1. 1. Add your photos

Drop files into the window or pick them on your device. You can process up to 25 photos at once.

  2. 2. Choose a format

JPG, PNG or WebP. Conversion starts immediately; change quality or file size in the settings and the result updates.

  3. 3. Download the result

Save each file separately or everything together as one ZIP archive.

What changes when you convert

  • This tool exports a still image. Live Photo motion, depth data and HDR information are not preserved; HEIC is rendered as a standard SDR image.
  • EXIF and GPS metadata from the source are not copied to the new file. Keep your original if you need capture information.
  • JPG and lossy WebP can change fine details. A size target is an estimate, not a guaranteed maximum.

Frequently asked questions

How do I open HEIC on a Windows computer?

The quickest way is to convert the file to JPG: add it to the converter above and download the result. No codecs required.

Will quality and capture date be kept?

The image is saved as a standard SDR photo; for JPG you can choose the quality. Live Photo motion, HDR and source EXIF and GPS are not carried over — keep the original if you need them.

Can I convert many HEIC files at once?

Yes, up to 25 files, each up to 40 MB. Download files one by one or all together as a ZIP. If one photo cannot be read, the others are still processed.

Is it free, and are my photos uploaded to a server?

The converter is free and needs no account or credits. Photos are processed in your browser on your device and are not uploaded to a server. Source EXIF and GPS metadata are not copied to the new file.
