How FotoLab checks and describes photo results
How to read our examples: source provenance, visible changes, facial likeness, color interpretation and processing settings.
Identify the source first
Our documented portrait run uses an AI-generated image of a fictional person. Its page gives the processing date, mode, number of runs and credits actually used. Comparisons of older gallery examples have a different scope: their exact settings and history are unknown. Each analysis states which evidence is available.
Compare source and result at a useful size
Open the larger files and compare framing, borders, scratches and undamaged areas. The site previews are resized and compressed to load quickly. If a pair has different framing, the analysis shows each image separately rather than presenting it as a perfectly aligned comparison.
A sharper or cleaner image is a visual improvement. It does not establish that missing details were recovered accurately.
Check every face and meaningful detail
Compare the eyes, mouth, head shape, glasses and hairline, then hands, clothing, lettering and background objects. For a group photo, check every person. AI can reconstruct plausible details, smooth skin or alter a caption; retain the original for your archive.
Separate color interpretation from restoration
Colorization estimates colors; it cannot verify the historical color of clothing, hair or skin from a monochrome source. Adding color may leave cracks visible. Our family colorization example shows this distinction. Keep both versions and label the color version as a modern interpretation.
Settings and prices have a date
A recorded credit cost describes that specific run. The form shows the current cost before a new processing run. Duration, resolution and sound affect video costs. Each new run uses credits, including another attempt on the same input. Check the ready result before deciding whether you need another run.
Editorial responsibility and corrections
FotoLab publishes these guides and example analyses. The About page identifies the service founder and legal operator. To report a misleading caption, incorrect setting or image mismatch, send the page address and the detail to correct through our contact page.
